Adam Bakhtiar joined Channel NewsAsia in February 2016. As Presenter of the International Business Desk, Adam fronts the channel’s newest dedicated business show, Asia Business First.

Adam’s journalism career began nine and a half years ago at CNBC Asia Pacific in Singapore. As Anchor and Correspondent at CNBC, his coverage extended from Asia to Europe and North America. His primary focus was North and Southeast Asia, delivering the latest market moving news with context for the viewers.

Adam has interviewed high profile global business personalities and some of the region’s most influential leaders, including Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak. Outside of television, Adam has moderated financial conferences for banks and also the ASEAN Tourism Forum in 2014.

Prior to joining CNBC, Adam worked as a stock broker with CIMB Investment Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree from Deakin University, Australia.

Julie co-hosts the channel’s flagship business programme Asia Business First. Prior to this, she also hosted Channel NewsAsia's Asia Connect, a fast-paced delivery of the latest news from the Asian region with "live" updates from correspondents in key capital cities.

Julie joined Channel NewsAsia in 2014 from Seoul-based Arirang, where she had a seven-year career, most notably as a news presenter for Prime Time News in the last two years and a presidential correspondent during the Lee Myung-bak administration in 2010-2011.

During her years as a Foreign Affairs/Unification Ministry correspondent in 2008-2009, Julie covered inter-Korean relations, North Korea’s nuclear programmes and South Korean diplomacy and politics, sitting down with numerous heads of state and senior officials in interviews.

Besides news, she also hosted a weekly programme that goes behind the scenes of newsgathering operation, and co-anchored a daily news magazine programme. Julie has a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from Royal Holloway University of London.
